The East End We Love

Welcome to the hub for Drawdown climate solutions for the East End of Long Island, New York. Drawdown East End is a grass roots, non-partisan organization that inspires and supports our communities to actively engage in solutions to reach drawdown.*  Our vision is to achieve drawdown and reverse global warming by 2050 in order to support all life on a thriving, regenerating earth. Sound impossible?  It’s not!  We already have the tools.  Together we can accelerate Drawdown climate solutions in our communities.

*Drawdown is the point in the future when levels of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere stop climbing and start to steadily decline, thereby stopping catastrophic climate change.

We are inspired by the science Project Drawdown and its achievable goal of reversing global warming.  Project Drawdown identifies a roadmap of scientifically valid, commonly available best practices and technologies that, when brought to scale, can reverse global warming and provide cascading economic, health and security benefits.

With Drawdown’s invitation to awaken creativity, innovation and a sense of adventure we will transform our personal lives, support our families, friends, communities, and change policies to achieve a healthy, regenerative and just future for all.  We welcome you to join us!

We are building a local roadmap of Initiatives to move Drawdown solutions into action, with a focus on 1) personal choices and     plans, 2) community projects

designed to be brought scale across the Peconic Bay Region and 3) policy changes that advance a regenerative, sustainable ecology, economy and future.

Project Drawdown is a global research organization that identifies, reviews and analyzes the most viable solutions to climate change, and shares these findings with the world. It has mapped an achievable plan of 100 solutions, brought to scale, to reverse global warming. A “doom and gloom” conversation shifts to opportunity, possibility and hope.

We see global warming not as an inevitability, but an invitation to build, innovate and effect change -- a pathway that awakens creativity, compassion and genius…this is a human agenda.
