As Greta says, at our current emissions rate our remaining CO2 budget for 1.5 degrees will be completely gone in 7 years. I will be 23.
This is a fact.
There is still hope, Greta says, because most people are not aware of the emergency. The emergency climate crisis. My pledge is for the next 7 years -- to do everything I can to learn as much as I can about climate solutions, to act on those solutions, and to influence everyone I know, my parents, my friends, and the wider community, to take action. Now. Right now.

Science tells us we need to live within the carrying capacity of the planet. I am fine-tuning my lifestyle to further lower my carbon emissions (conserving energy, substituting with renewable), and to further enhance natural carbon sinks (by composting, planting trees, protecting the oceans). Living within Earth's atmospheric boundaries --- I think of it as a challenge, like flying below the radar.

I pledge to dedicate the time of my 'last career' to implementing the principles and practices of Drawdown to every level of Engagement--Personal, Friends & Family, Community and Governance. WeDontHaveTime (.org) is the Motto of Urgency right now. Let's make it all happen--for ourselves, our children, and grandchildren yet to be born.
